CatRescue
is largely funded by it's
committee and carers. Most
of our costs are desexing, vet
bills, cages and things we cant
barter for. We have no paid
staff. Our goal is to establish
a rehoming centre that can
operate in the region to allow
greater opportunity to rehome.
Big plans, but lots of cats.
For example - a desex costs
us around $120, a collapsible
cage costs $140, a VetRescue
cage costs about $250 (depending
on EBAY). Food and Litter is
about $1 a day per cat but gets
expensive around Kitten Season.
We often have to pay for a
rescue cat to come out of pounds
(they dont come free without
Clause 17 exemption), or for
microchipping. Sometimes we have
large vet bills. Petrol, carry
cages, towels, you name it . .
.it is all costly, but it is
worthwhile because it saves
lives!
