Thank you for

 considering

CatRescue in your

Will and Legacy

Come and visit us to learn more about our unique programs.

All donations are used sparingly, we have no paid staff and low overheads.

Funds are used to save lives, through vet work, desexing and medical treatment.

We own no premises and pay no council admin fees, your donation does not go into palaces or frills.

We are a No-Kill shelter. Every animal deserves a change and we do our best to make it happen.

Sick, old and infirm animals also get a new life. We have found homes for hundreds of "impossible" rehomes.

Your legacy will live through the lives of hundreds of rescued animals

We welcome you having a good look through our web site, talking to our volunteers and visiting our houses to see the work that we are doing to save the lives of neglected animals.

A legacy to CatRescue ensures we can continue our ongoing work. We have frugal and sound economic management, and we don't waste anything.

If you would like to leave a legacy to CatRescue you can include the following paragraph when making or updating your Will :

"I leave $ to CatRescue NSW Limited for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the secretary, treasurer, or other proper officer of that organization is a sufficient receipt for my Trustee and that my Trustee is not obliged to see to the application of this bequest."

It is not always easy to think about making your Will, but it is the only way you can be absolutely sure that your Estate will pass to those who you wish to benefit and that you can choose the person who will look after your affairs.

By leaving clear and precise instructions about the disposal of your Estate, you will also save your loved ones from unnecessary distress at a time when they are least able to cope with it. In case you are still not convinced …. If you do not leave a valid Will, you are said to die 'intestate'. Your estate will be divided according to legislation.

No part of your estate will go to a charity if you die intestate, so whatever you may have 'said' about leaving a gift to a charity, the only way to ensure this will happen is by including a bequest to the charity in your Will.

The above wording may need to be adapted for your particular circumstances. For example you may wish to leave a percentage of your assets to CatRescue rather than a lump sum, or perhaps a particular valuable asset, such as shares, an antique, or real estate.

Now, away from the ghoulish stuff, what will this mean.

  • A bequest to CatRescue does not get wasted on admin, staff or premises.

  • A donation goes into real life work that directly saves lives.

  • A major bequest would be managed by our legal people to ensure complete transparency and action towards a large project.

  • You can also leave a bequest with your cat, we will help her find a home (even with a long term carer or ourselves)
